Antler Alley Outfitters - Come Hunt Your Buck In Ohio

This nice 8 point buck was Aaron's first Ohio whitetail taken with a bow.  He was shot at only 10 yards on our first night at this location.

We observed several other whitetail bucks at this location but were not close enough for a bow shot.

Aaron's 2009 Whitetail from Missouri shot at 72 yards, thru the heart with his Mathews Monster XLR8 and a Rage 2 blade broadhead.   He is very proud of his shot as he should be.  Great job Aaron.

We Love Bowhunting and........

We would like to offer you an opportunity hunt Whitetail with us in Eastern Central Ohio.  We will be offering bow hunts the last two weeks of October and the first two weeks of November along with a one week of shotgun season in late November.

This area of the Midwest has become known as one of the greatest Whitetail Buck hunting grounds in the country.  There are some great bucks that call this area home and the shooting of does is encouraged to help the farmers control the deer on their properties and give you some venison for the freezer.

Whitetail tags in Ohio are over the counter and cost $125 for your license, $24 for  your deer tag and $15 for additional anterless tags.

We have acquired permission to hunt several farms in this area.  See our "Hunting Properties" page.  Some of them we have hunted for the last 2 years.  Stands and blinds will be placed at strategic locations in both crop fields and timber.  Depending on the weather and the growing season, crops may still be standing in the early season, so stands and blinds must be placed accordingly so as to offer the best shot opportunity.

This will be a small and personal operation for you the hunter.  We will have four Whitetail hunters per week and two guides.  Both of us have over 12 years outfitting experience and know that hunters like good service and personal attention.  You will receive  both at Antler Alley Outfitters.

If you have questions please review the rest of our website and contact us for additional details.

Ohio Whitetail Overview

Ohio's whitetail herd is a growing on with the total population estimated at around 650,000. or more.  The annual kill is in excess of 250,000.   In 2009 on Monday, November 31st, opening day of gun season hunters shot 35,000. deer.  This gives you an idea of the number of deer in Ohio.  The deer density exceeds 25 per square mile and there were 1,677 farm complaints of crop damage from deer in 2008.  We will be hunting Carroll County, the #7 county out of 88 in the state in 2008 with 6997 deer shot.

We, along with many other people, think that Ohio is one of the best Whitetail hunting states in the Midwest.  It ranks in the top three states in the number of B & C and P & Y entries in the record books.  The Whitetail numbers in Ohio continue to grow in spite record harvests each year.  For those of you on the East Coast, Ohio makes a more convenient hunt in that you can drive to your hunt instead of fly.

The link below will take you to an article you can view showing you the largest muzzle loader buck ever taken in Ohio shot last Fall. It also has the longest main beams ever recorded on a whitetail..35 inches.  Have a look!!!
